TUMACO Deep immersion
Over 7 days and 6 nights, you will discover the cultural and natural richness of Tumaco through music, traditional cuisine, and meaningful encounters with coastal communities. Surrounded by beaches, mangroves, and the Pacific Ocean, you will connect with musicians, traditional cooks, and cultural knowledge keepers while exploring the traditions, flavors, and ways of life that define this region.


Day 1
Arrival and Cultural Welcome
Arrival in Tumaco and transfer to Bocagrande. Along the way, we’ll visit Las Puertas del Cielo and meet a local cultural foundation. Later, we’ll take part in a traditional instrument-making workshop and end the day with our first music session alongside local musicians.
DAY 2
Music, Cuisine, and Beach Time
Enjoy a free morning on the beaches of Bocagrande. After lunch, we’ll continue exploring Pacific rhythms through a hands-on music session. In the evening, we’ll share a culinary experience with the chefs of María del Mar, discovering the flavors and dishes that are part of Tumaco’s cultural heritage.




DAY 3
Viche Tradition and Community Life
We’ll travel to the community of Soledad Cuary to visit Don Onésimo, a renowned viche master, and his family. There, we’ll learn about the production process of this ancestral spirit and its importance within local culture. The day concludes with an evening shared alongside the community and its warm hospitality.
DAY 4
Pacific Whales and Guitar Gathering
The morning is dedicated to whale watching in the Pacific Ocean. Afterwards, we’ll return to Bocagrande and enjoy free time by the sea. In the evening, we’ll gather for a traditional guitar night, sharing songs, stories, and musical traditions in an intimate community setting.



Día 5
Dance, Music, and Oral Traditions
We’ll begin with a dance workshop focused on the fundamental movements of the rhythms explored throughout the week. Later, we’ll join a musical session with matronas cantoras, who will share their songs, stories, and traditions while we learn and play alongside them.
Día 6
Mangrove Traditions and Farewell Celebration
Experience pianguada and potrillo, traditional practices deeply connected to the mangrove ecosystems and coastal life of the region. After a free afternoon, we’ll gather for a farewell celebration featuring a special dinner and an informal evening of marimba, drums, singing, and community.



DAY 7
Farewell to the Pacific
After a relaxed breakfast, enjoy some final time by the beach before transferring to Tumaco Airport. You’ll return home carrying the connections, memories, and cultural exchanges shared throughout the experience.
